Fresh-Milled Apple Streusel muffins W/Sourdough Discard

glazed apple muffins

I made some delicious apple streusel muffins, perfect for apple picking season! These muffins are easy, made with fresh milled flour, sourdough discard and fresh apples! Topped with a brown sugar walnut crumble.

Making the batter

For this batter I used my pumpkin muffin recipe as a base. I’m so glad they turned out and they taste so good! I put all the ingredients in a bowl and combined them all together. I diced up the apples and coated them in cinnamon. Then I made the crumb topping.

Assembling The Muffins

Lined the muffin tins with these liners. I layered the muffins like a coffee cake. Batter, then apples, batter, then top with streusel.

Baking Time!

I baked these at 425*F for 5 minutes, then lowered the temperature to 350*F and baked them for 20 minutes. I let them cool a bit then made a glaze to drizzle on the top! I’m so happy I thought of making these muffins because they have become one of my favorite types of muffins!
